The Role

The Experience Center Chef plays a central role in delivering a curated premium customer journey that embodies Fisher & Paykel’s brand values and purpose — to create moments of delight, together, in the heart of the home.

You Will

Through exceptional culinary expertise and engaging storytelling, the EC Chef showcases the performance and design of our appliances. This role also requires leadership capability to act as the Experience Center lead in the absence of the Center Manager.

Customer Experience Delivery

Deliver a best-in-class Fisher & Paykel experience to all visitors through immersive storytelling, in-depth product knowledge, and culinary engagement.

Support center-based programs and activations, ensuring events are executed to a premium standard and aligned with key deadlines.

Understand the premium appliance market, including adjacent categories such as luxury kitchen design, gourmet food, and wine.

Demonstration / Program Delivery

Plan and lead high-quality culinary demonstrations that clearly highlight product features and benefits in an engaging, educational format.

Collaborate with the EC Manager to develop recipes and menus tailored to guest feedback, seasonal trends, and product innovation.

Ensure food quality, presentation, and kitchen cleanliness meet Fisher & Paykel’s elevated standards.

Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent, high-quality ingredient availability.

Support and guide kitchen support staff and act as a collaborative team member within the Center.

Develop and manage food sourcing processes that align with budget expectations.

On occasion, deliver in-store cooking experiences with key retail partners to elevate brand awareness and product advocacy.

Comply with all relevant food safety and occupational health & safety regulations; maintain readiness for audits or authority visits at all times.

Management & Leadership

Collaborate closely with the EC Manager and wider team to deliver the Center’s strategic objectives.

Act as the Experience Center leader when rostered or during EC Manager absences, ensuring continuity of operations and visitor experience.

Identify staffing needs (e.g., casual kitchen hands, cooking specialists) and communicate proactively to the EC Manager.

Ensure all service, communication, and presentation standards are consistent with Fisher & Paykel’s premium brand positioning.

Administration, Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with all food safety, health & safety, and emergency procedures; uphold security and company policy standards.

Maintain all kitchen equipment in optimal condition, ensuring cleanliness and functionality in line with safety regulations.

Support implementation of best practices to minimize incidents and maintain a safe working environment.

Assign appropriate food safety and H&S responsibilities to relevant support team members.

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of operational metrics and activity outcomes to stakeholders.

You Have

Minimum 5 years as a Chef in a premium or fine dining environment.

Experience in food demonstrations, brand engagement, or as a Cooking Specialist/Home Economist is a plus.

Food Safety Certification (mandatory)

Food Handling Certification (mandatory)

Culinary or Food Technology qualification preferred

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually. This range is a guideline and may not reflect your exact offer. Factors considered when extending an offer include (but are not limited to) education, experience, relevant skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
