We are looking for an experiance expeditor to join our Constellation team at Rat's Restaurant in Hamilton, NJ. As an expeditor, you will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse set of customers daily, while ensuring that foodservice goes as smoothly as possible.
Compensation Range$18-$20/hour + tips .
Service Coordination and Communication: Act as the critical communication link between the kitchen (BOH) and the dining room (FOH) to ensure smooth and timely service. Manage the flow of orders from the kitchen to the dining room, coordinating plating, timing, and course pacing. Ensure all dishes are complete, accurate, and plated to fine dining standards before leaving the pass. Quality Control: Inspect each plate for presentation, temperature, and accuracy against the order ticket. Confirm dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests are properly executed and communicated to service staff. Ensure consistency across dishes and uphold the Executive Chef’s standards on every order. Team Communication: Maintain real-time communication between line cooks, chefs, and service staff throughout service. Clearly and calmly call out orders and modifications to the kitchen staff in a professional tone. Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef to anticipate delays and adjust pacing accordingly. Course Timing and Table Management Monitor ticket times and coordinate the precise delivery of multi-course meals in alignment with FOH pacing. Communicate with servers and runners to maintain awareness of table status and guest needs. Proactively manage timing for VIPs, large parties, and special dining experiences (e.g., chef’s table, wine pairings). Cleanliness and Organization Keep the pass area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary service tools (e.g., garnishes, wipes, plating utensils). Ensure ticket rails, heat lamps, and expo counters are well maintained throughout service. Uphold sanitation standards in the expo area in accordance with health department guidelines. Shift Readiness and Close down Participate in pre-shift meetings and communicate with kitchen leadership on special items, 86’d dishes, and pacing strategy. Assist with end-of-shift breakdown and cleaning of the expo station, ensuring readiness for the next service. Guest Experience Support: Support the FOH in delivering an exceptional guest experience through accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail. Coordinate with FOH for guest requests, re-fires, or timing adjustments with a solution-focused mindset. Contribute to creating a seamless and memorable fine dining experience through behind-the-scenes excellence.
