Exercise Physiologist Cardio Rehab - Cardiology, Per Diem
Work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team members, to maintain accountability for the implementation and supervision of the physical exercise component of the program, as well as, participating with other team members in the planning and delivery of portions of the cardiac risk factor reduction educational component. Participates in community outreach programs related to the promotion of wellness and disease risk reduction initiatives as supported by Cheshire Medical Center – DHK. Provides input in area of expertise in activity based wellness programs for community health enhancement. Assess participant to develop plan of care, along with other team members, prior to participant's entry into the program. Prepare and adjust exercise prescription in accordance with an exercise stress test and physician recommendation. May perform exercises periodically with participants, demonstrating correct body position and proper use of equipment, in order to prevent injury and foster adherence to the exercise prescription. Educate other team members in correct exercise techniques and use of equipment to enable them to monitor participants' progress and adherence to the exercise prescription. Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology required, Masters preferred.Minimum of 24 months experience that includes program responsibilities for Health/Fitness/Wellness promotion, with adult population. ACSM Credential or eligibility obtained within 1 year.
