SUMMARY:

The Executive Vice President, Employee Benefits will be responsible for the overall Mid-South (MSO) Employee Benefits line of business.  Reporting to the President of MSO, this executive level position is a strong client relationship manager and employee benefits expert.  Further, this role represents our entire Employee Benefits Value proposition and proposes viable solutions to manage the menu of benefit options for clients. By staying on top of emerging trends in Employee Benefits, you will help develop the strategy for young Producers that allows them to contribute to and flourish in a team environment and engage in regular professional development to best assist their clients in their annual renewal process and any other possible options that would enhance or meet the client goals. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide a vision and plan for sustained profitable growth of the practice throughout MSOAlong with the VP of Employee Benefit Operations– co-own/manage the EB Budget for the regionEnsure we are delivering the right sales and consulting experienceBe a thought leader in technical aspects of Employee BenefitsLead innovation and strategy for the overall practice to ensure continuous development of EB products and service offerings aligned with identified needs and future needs of EB customersRecruit, onboard, develop ProducersAccountable for growth and retentionAssists with and implements best practices for account stewardshipInterfaces with partners as needs (Health & Performance/Service/Marketing/Financial)Plays key role at finalist meeting as Employee Benefits ExpertAssist our Producers with closing new business by speaking to every HUB specialtyEnsure we are delivering the right sales and consulting experienceJoin large or otherwise important cases as a strategic presenceActivate and strategically deploys specialty services and experts to win business, secure existing accounts and evolve multi-year plans for our customersDevelop long-lasting relationships with client teams and Producers to grow and retain businessDevelop long-lasting relationships with carriers, key vendor partners and other stakeholders and interfacing as needed to grow business and resolve issuesPositively and proactively represents HUB in meetings, seminars, trade shows and networking eventsPerform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

10+ years of experience within employee benefitsHands-on manager who enjoys mentoring and direct management of staffProven client service record in retaining business and improving cross-sell resultsCan institute effective employee development procedures which address training, processes and procedures, E&O avoidance, continuing education, recruiting, hiring and disciplinary actionsA consultative, positive and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients and associatesAn ability to help our business owners evolve our service and strategic delivery to move with changing markets.   We support clients across all size segments including small group, middle market and key accounts (national and international footprints) up to 10,000+ employees.A passion to seek emerging strategies and vendors to support themA drive to complement a strong team and supplement roles where neededUnderstanding of the insurance market, carriers and productsAbility to work with national accounts, companies with multi-national footprintsStrong Financial Statement and Budget Literacy to not only support the management of profit and loss, but to communicate our value to financially minded customers and vendorsStrong visibility within the communities we serveHighly developed organization and time management skillsStrong written, verbal & interpersonal communication skillsPublic speaking and presentation experienceStrong degree of self-motivationDemonstrated ability to lead/motivate othersIs influential and persuasive with the ability to partner across HUB and work well with segment and other practice leadersProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent organizational and prioritization skillsHigh attention to detail essentialTravel varies. Up to 25% locally and may have several occasions that require travel to various US states.

EDUCATION, LICENSING OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

College or University Degree required; additional certifications preferredActive Tennessee Life and Health License required

Required Experience: 10-15 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: Up to 25%

Required Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
