Executive Director - Resident Experience and Operations
Job Overview Ebenezer is proud to introduce a newly created leadership role: Executive Director for our intimate, Signature Memory Care community in beautiful Minnetonka, MN. As Executive Director of our Signature Memory Care community, you will: Oversee all aspects of community operations, including financial management, staffing, and compliance. Lead strategic marketing and community outreach efforts. Champion innovative programming and life enrichment opportunities tailored to residents’ needs. Foster a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where residents thrive and families feel supported. Creates and maintains a high performing team within the community: Oversees the hiring, onboarding, training and overall employee experience of staff at the site Develops performance and operational goals with department directors Provides on-going support to and encourages professional development of the department directors Assesses team performance and provides regular feedback. Addresses performance issues promptly and effectively. Promotes staff understanding of the roles they play in the accomplishment of the goals of the community and provides supportive feedback on a regular basis Monitors financial performance: Develops annual budget and monitors monthly activity Supports department directors with developing budget and financial goals Meets monthly with department directors to review financial performance and assure budget compliance Reviews and monitors monthly financial statements with Ebenezer Corporate office Plans and implements changes in strategy of generating revenue &/or managing expenses in response to current financial performance Oversees monthly billing process for residents: Issues resident statements with accuracy Answers billing questions from residents/responsible parties Collects and tracks resident payments Completes bank deposits Provides complete and timely information to accounting department Establishes and supports an environment conducive to the provision of quality services and high-level customer satisfaction: Communicates and is highly engaged with residents and families Meets regularly with appropriate resident committees Responds effectively to resident or family concerns including managing the grievance resolution process Routinely conducts and/or reviews satisfaction surveys Consistently demonstrates excellent customer service and holds all employees to the same Develops and implements QAPI program to ensure quality of care and risk management activities are in play Oversight of employee training compliance with regulations and Ebenezer policies. Acts as liaison for ownership if in a managed community, interacting with them verbally and in writing, ensuring they are kept up to date with the current status of the building operationally and financially in a predetermined cadence and as needed in between. Implement and maintain the Dimensions Program. Serves as the Dimensions Champion for the site, attending Ebenezer’s Dimensions Trainings and ongoing Dimensions Champions training. Coaches and mentors care team, other staff members and volunteers in best practices of the Dimensions Program to ensure effective approach and interaction with persons living with dementia. (i.e. not “living with memory loss”, as it’s not all about memory loss) Collaborates with nursing to maximize recommended contributions to resident care plan from current Cognitive Performance Tests (CPT), Life History/Activity Assessment, Advance Care Planning and Global Deterioration Scale (GDS) Works with the team to utilize psychosocial (i.e. non-pharmacological, such as aromatherapy, music, massage, etc.) approaches and interventions. Ensures Dimensions environment is conducive to enhancing resident experience and encouraging engagement. Facilitates, coordinates, and supports the Care Partner Support group. Develop program and activities reflective of Dimensions Community resident interests. Assesses Dimension residents’ areas of interest and needs. Designs and implements programs to meet their identified psychosocial needs. Ensures, through observation and evaluation, that residents maintain their individualized highest level of performance and, well-being, and independence. Develop monthly activity calendar: plans, coordinates, and supports day-to-day activities and programming in the Community. Provide overall program direction and ensures execution of programming through Life Enrichment Assistants, Resident Assistants and/or other available staff. Encourages resident participation in life enrichment programming. Maintains department records for resident attendance at activities. Coordinates vendors to bring in entertainment that compliments community interests. Ensures proper programming supplies are available for residents/staff. Drives Ebenezer van/bus for resident outings: Reviews and completes Vehicle Requirements – Transporting Residents Checklist prior to each resident outing. Maintains a log of transportation services and tasks performed throughout the driving period. Responsible for the safety and welfare of passengers. Practices sound, safe judgment when performing transportation services including but not limited to fire/disaster procedures and infection control procedures. Recognizes and acts appropriately on safety hazards and incidents. Follows all laws with regard to operating a motor vehicle. Immediately reports any traffic violations or accidents. Establishes and executes a sales and marketing plan aimed at full occupancy: Works with corporate marketing department to design and coordinate marketing & sales plans/initiatives Develops and maintains effective, on-going relationships with external referral resources through planned outreach Ensures proper communication systems are in place amongst different entities/leaders Engages team to ensure efficient and successful move-ins Creates and maintains system for generating new leads Follows Ebenezer Sales System guidelines Ensures that marketing materials are current and available Obtains and analyzes competitive pricing and market area trend information as it relates to the senior housing community Schedules and conducts tours Makes recommendations for web content and changes Understands sales barriers that exist and identify solutions Maintains and updates CRM data base on prospects Maintains current Occupancy Reporting requirements Manages wait list(s) Monitors the maintenance of the building and grounds and provides feedback/direction to appropriate staff as necessary Ensures that the community is in compliance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations’ Manages compliance with Department of Health AL regulations and all other governmental bodies (ex: OSHA, DOL, etc). Manages survey process end-to-end for standard and complaint surveys conducted by Health Department officials. Required Qualifications: Current Driver’s License (in good standing) Must be insurable under the employer's/communities Auto Insurance Coverage Must be at least 21-years old 1 or more years senior livingt leadership experience Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) or Licensed Health Services Executive (LHSE) by BELTSS Board OR Meets requirements for Assisted Living Director – In Residence (ALD-IR) by obtaining a permit from BELTSS as an ALD-IR within 30-days of hire date and have experience in the management of an AL or related facility or must be enrolled in a BELTSS approved program within six (6) months of permit issuance (Refer to MN Rule 6400.7080B). Required to graduate from approved program, complete the field experience and pass the examinations within one year of hire date. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
