Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** POSITION SUMMARY: Receive all calls and requests via the EVS Hot Phone, operates the Teletracking Bed Board application via computer or handheld device, dispatch EVS Staff to jobs as required, inspects completed jobs for cleaning quality and assists management on special project, activities, and training of all new hires. Transports trash and soiled linen as needed. Is knowledgeable of EVS Tech I and EVS Tech II functions and performs other duties as required. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Maintains appearance and cleanliness of corridors, patient floors and public areas. + Dust mops and damp mops corridors daily. + Maintains hard surface floors on a daily basis. + Maintains cleanliness of walls, doors, baseboards, windows, stairwells, and elevator tracks adjacent to corridors daily. + Removes all necessary equipment left in corridors – beds, linen carts, etc. – to ensure free passage for transporter with patients. + Keeps Janitors closet clean and orderly during the shift. 2. Perform room set-ups, and other projects assigned. + Transport or move equipment and furniture with care throughout the facility per requests. + Respond immediately and professionally to all in scheduled requests for set-ups or moves. + Wash walls, windows, and clean furniture as requested. 3. Pick up and transport waste materials. + Remove carefully all soiled linen bag, trash bags, chemo waste and medical waste and transport to soiled utility rooms. + Keeps utility rooms and transport equipment clean and sanitized throughout shift. + Transports and disposes of infectious waste containers in prescribed manner daily or as needed. 4. Maintain all equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition. + Inspect equipment cleanliness and serviceability prior to and after use. Ensure and maintain optimal condition and determine the need of repair. + Direct all safety or repair needs immediately to Management. + Stores all equipment in the proper place while not in use. 5. Follows all safety, fire, disaster and infection control procedures. + Immediately responds and assists in fire and disaster drills. + Practices Universal Precautions in the performance of all duties. + Notifies supervisor or manager immediately upon observing any violation of procedures related to fire, safety, disaster or infection control policies. 7. Performs other duties as assigned. + Appropriately access secured rooms with lock medication storage containers in order to perform assigned job function, which does not include management of medications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to demonstrate understanding of national patient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures as required by both HCA and South Austin Medical Center. Skilled in the use of all floor care equipment and Terminal Cleaning or OR Surgery Suites. Can perform other housekeeping tasks satisfactorily. Interacts daily with co-workers, hospital staff, visitors and patients. Verbal communications skills are necessary. Adheres to isolation policies and procedures. Utilizes universal precautions at all times. Works autonomously and with supervision. Maintains confidentiality of patient medical records. Regular and predictable attendance is required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required: Must be able to speak and understand English. Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent required. Some floor care experience.
