Job Purpose & Scope
Supports the Managing Director in administration and oversight of Corporate Trust duties. Provides high-quality fiduciary and administrative services to clients and may provide leadership to Corporate Trust team members. Researches and addresses compliance concerns in conjunction with the Managing Director.
Essential Job Functions
+ Assists the Managing Director with implementation of the strategic vision for the Corporate Trust team.
+ Responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of assigned corporate/municipal trust accounts, municipal bond issues, and other types of fiduciary accounts.
+ Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients and fellow employees to maximize business development potential.
+ Supports the Managing Director for growth initiatives, researching new business and expansion opportunities and managing the assigned book of business.
+ Serves as backup to the Managing Director for daily processing, ensuring deadlines are met and that funds are paid to bondholders in a timely and accurate manner when necessary or upon request.
+ Serves as backup to the Managing Director for the quarterly dividend payment process to ensure shareholders are paid timely and accurately.
+ Audits and reviews stock and bond transfer processes and procedures for SEC, FDIC, internal, and state-level compliance and brings all identified concerns to the Managing Director for remediation.
+ Prepares and presents internal reports including, but not limited to, administrative reviews.
+ Compiles reports for State Board of Finance annually.
+ Responsible for FAST Cab inventory semi-annually and vault inventory quarterly
+ Assumes primary responsibility for a variety of routine administration tasks, such as: regulatory filings, payment letters, Depositary Share statements, and Client Point Letters.
+ Assumes leadership and primary responsibility for the Corporate Trust team and team functions in the absence of the Managing Director, to include staffing, training, compliance, operations, and process oversight.
+ All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Comprehensive knowledge of bond issues and regulations.
+ Advanced Knowledge of fiduciary accounting, documents, and reporting requirements.
+ Strong ability to maintain confidentiality, utilize discretion, and demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making.
+ Ability to work without close supervision.
+ Ability to demonstrate effective leadership and strategic management skills to train, supervise and develop staff.
+ Ability to demonstrate flexibility and manage multiple tasks with exacting deadlines in a continually changing and fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
+ Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and maintain quality and accuracy in transactions/circumstances requiring special attention.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
+ Ability to work extended hours to accomplish work goals.
+ Ability and willingness to travel on company business.
+ Ability to demonstrate effective customer service, sales, business development, and presentation skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret legal documents related to bond issues.
+ Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting or commensurate work experience, required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
+ 8+ years’ work experience in corporate trust roles with increasing responsibilities, required.
+ 4+ years’ experience leading, managing or supervising, required.
