The Engineering Copilot is an AI-supported assistant for engineering with the TIA Portal. This Copilot is a chatbot that acts as a bridge connecting your local TIA Portal engineering system with your Azure OpenAI services. This chatbot allows users to ask questions about TIA Portal automation tasks, provides code generation support for Simatic PLCs and guides users through the creation of a WinCC Unified visualization. Answers are provided via Azure OpenAI Services and users have the option to integrate the results directly into their ongoing TIA Portal projects.

With our solutions we give support in generating PLC codes, creating WinCC Unified Screens and establishing TIA Documentation Search.

We are looking for a new colleague who will join our office in Budapest:

Medior Industrial Copilot Backend Developer (.NET)

Responsibilities:

Developing an industrial AI application in the pilot phase

Implementing new features with end-to-end responsibilities based on requirements

Prototyping, validating

Fixing bugs

Participating in sprint planning, supporting the preparation of longer development cycles

Suggesting improvements for the agile operation of the team, actively participating in the improvement process

Representing the team and domain area in an international project environment on an expert level, developing and keeping a partnership

Requirements:

1-3 years of experience in software engineering

Proficiency in both written and spoken English

Profound knowledge in object-oriented software development with C# and .NET 8

User-level understanding of AI

Basic understanding of prompt engineering

Knowledge of Git-based version control

Solution-oriented, proactive attitude

The ability to work independently and as a team member

Advantages:

Degree in software engineering or related field (like electrical or mechatronics engineer)

Experience in Industrial Automation is preferred

Familiarity with TIA Portal

Hands-on experience with STEP 7 or WinCC

Proficiency in TIA Portal Openness

Knowledge in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment)

Practical knowledge using SOLID and clean code principles

Familiarity with Python

Experience in using LLMs (Semantic Kernel, RAG, OpenAI)

Experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure

Azure Cloud Certification is a plus

Knowledge of Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, and Azure ML Pipelines

Frontend development knowledge (Node.js)

Experience in agile development
