Job Title Events Student Assistant Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Vice Chancellor of Agriculture - Staff Proposed Minimum Salary $9.00 hourly Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Student Worker Job Description Position Information Texas A&M AgriLife is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Events Student Assistant to support the planning and execution of events for donors, alumni, faculty, staff, and students within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in event logistics, hospitality, and administrative coordination—ideal for students interested in event planning, communications, or higher education advancement. As an Events Student Assistant, you'll help execute signature events such as the Legacy and Leadership Scholarship Banquet, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Tailgate, AGLS Convocation, seasonal events in The Gardens, and the Distinguished Alumni Banquet, among many others. Responsibilities: + Assist with event setup and teardown (tables, chairs, signage, audio/visual equipment, etc.) in the AgriLife Center and The Garden's Pavilion + Provide on-site event support, including greeting guests, staffing check-in tables, directing attendees, and monitoring A/V needs + Coordinate logistics with vendors, AgriLife Events Team, and event personnel + Prepare and organize event materials such as nametags, programs, signage, and giveaways + Utilize AgriLife Events event documentation to complete pre- and post-event tasks + Use and maintain detailed file systems for event planning and records + Track and reconcile event-related transactions including purchasing and invoicing + Maintain supply closets and storage areas cleanliness, organization, and inventory + Perform general administrative and clerical support for the AgriLife Events team + Attend team meetings and contribute to planning and post-event debriefs + Learn to use the invoicing software to create and distribute client invoices + Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: + Must be a currently enrolled student at Texas A&M University + Communication, organization, and interpersonal skills + Professional, dependable, and service-minded + Attention to detail and ability to manage time independently Preferred Qualifications: + Customer Service experience + Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic file management + Interest in event planning, public relations, or communications + Basic understanding of expense tracking and financial record keeping is a plus Other Requirements: + Must be able to lift or move light to moderate objects and assist with set up + This position requires working some evening and weekend hours, as required by event schedules ​What You Need to Know ​Pay Rate: $9.00 per hour Work Schedule/Location: Approximately 15–20 hours per week, based on student availability and event schedule.
