Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As part of the marketing team, this headquarters based Manager, Events & Activations position will oversee the Events team and work closely with the Brand Manager, Communications, Product & Sales teams to create best-in-class experiences for consumers & our customers around the Continental and General Tire brands.

The Events & Activations Manager is responsible for managing the strategy and execution of all B2B and B2C events as well as working with our agencies to operate our on-site mobile activations.

 

Manage and mentor the Events department (team of 4 with 3 direct reports)Develop & own customer entertainment strategy to support sales teams.  This includes leading the team to:Plan, execute & measure success of annual Uvalde Drive & Learn programPlan, execute & measure success of internal events including National Sales Conference, Mid-Year Sales Conference, External Product Council, other internal events as neededPlan, execute & measure success of annual top customer trip with support of external agencyPlan, execute & measure success of product launch events focused on customers & mediaCollaborate with Communications team support the execution of consumer/influencer eventsManage mobile marketing displays via our agenciesIncludes ownership concept development, all operational aspects and measurement of successLiaison between agency and sales for ticketing & hospitalityOversight of marketing warehouse and inventoryStay on top of the changing live and digital events environment to identify new opportunities for better execution or new ideas for our brandsBudget and PO responsibility

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE 

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field7+ years of professional experience in event planningStrong corporate event planning experienceExperience managing and mentoring a teamExpertise in onsite events and customer engagementSkill in negotiating and contracting with vendorsAbility to travel 50-75% of timeAbility to listen and work collaboratively with team members from various marketing & sales functionsLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is only able to offer visa support for internals individuals who currently hold an existing valid employment visa A domestic relocation package can be offered if needed
