Job Description

The Remote Network Support Technician plays a critical role in assisting clients and field technicians with the setup and troubleshooting of IP camera systems deployed globally. This position involves monitoring and ensuring the seamless flow of video data through remote servers. The Technician will resolve technical issues, manage trouble tickets, and ensure proper video transmission. Strong customer service skills and a professional approach to problem-solving are essential. Technicians are also encouraged to provide insights to improve system efficiency and performance.

 

ResponsibilitiesSupport TicketsProvide prompt and effective solutions to user-submitted support tickets.Troubleshoot login issues and guide users through access recovery.Add new users and configure access permissions.Resolve hardware issues, including camera malfunctions and connectivity problems.Network TroubleshootingIdentify and resolve network outages affecting IP camera systems.Collaborate with users to diagnose and resolve network issues.Camera and User ConfigurationConfigure cameras for optimal performance and create presets.Set up preset camera positions for specific use cases.New IP Camera InstallationsIntegrate new IP cameras into the Video Management System (VMS).Adjust streaming protocols for efficient video transmission.Create and configure user accounts and view groups tailored to client needs.Network MonitoringMonitor network performance and video/data transmission.Respond to outages and minimize downtime.Add new systems to the monitoring framework.Track network and bandwidth usage to preempt performance issues.Field Installation SupportProvide remote support to field teams, including server setup and quality control.Provision new cameras and monitor server health.Enable remote viewing access and download post-event footage for archival.Required QualificationsWindows Expertise: 3+ years managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows OS in enterprise environments.IP Networks: 3+ years setting up and troubleshooting complex IP networks, including routing and switching.Routing Knowledge: 3+ years configuring and managing routing protocols.IP Camera Systems: 3+ years installing and maintaining IP-based video surveillance systems.VMS Provisioning: 3+ years managing and optimizing Video Management Systems.Linux Proficiency: 3+ years configuring and maintaining Linux systems, including command-line tools and scripting.Preferred QualificationsMilestone Certified Integration Technician (MCIT)Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA)BenefitsMedical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance401(k) plan enrollment (subject to eligibility)Eight paid holidays, five sick days, and four personal days annuallyVacation accrual at 3.08 hours biweekly (unused vacation paid out only where required by law) Closing
