Office Responsibilities: The Marketing and Communications/Strategic Initiatives area at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Event Communications, Student Assistant. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, responsible, and proactive individual to support initiatives within the Event Communications and Marketing area. This position reports to the Manager of Performance and Event Communications and is an ideal position for students who are interested in curating, compiling and editing communications and marketing materials for performing arts events, with an attention to accuracy, compelling content and detail.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.

RESPONSIBILITIES Research, curate, create and organize content for Programs (digital and printed) for performing arts events Edit and proofread programs with a sharp attention to detail and accuracy Format and digitize event and concert programs using digital program platform FlipHTML5 Correspond promptly and professionally with event organizers, including artists, faculty, students and staff Create digital programs and QR codes Research, collect and organize content for Event Registration pages on web-based event platform, Splash Create event registration pages on the web-based event platform, Splash Provide marketing support and research Order and post posters and other promotional materials Additional duties as assigned
WORK MODE Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.
SALARY RANGE Hourly Rate: $16.50/hour
Hours per Week: 3-20 or “as needed”

Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Excellent understanding of grammar and ability to follow style guides Careful, detail oriented, accurate and a proven ability to proofread and edit at a high level Proactive researcher and troubleshooter Ability to properly communicate in a timely and professional manner with artists, faculty and staff Proficiency at G-suite and ability to learn other web-based software to complete duties, like FlipHTML5, Splash and Mailchimp Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Current student in a College of Performing Arts degree program Prior experience in proofreading, program creation or similar area of public facing document creation. Knowledge of and familiarity with concert programs (orchestral, theater, opera, jazz).
