This is an exciting opportunity to join the Avantor organization as European Tax Manager (m/w/d) in the Netherlands. Reporting to the Sr. Director, International Tax, the European Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing, planning, and ensuring the effective and efficient operation of Avantor in Europe, in practice in accordance with tax laws, regulations, and mandatory obligations.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in taxation, economics, finance, law, or a related field.Minimum 6-9 years of professional experience in corporate income tax.Experience in a multinational group environment is preferred.The Certified Tax Advisor qualification is highly valued but not mandatory.Strong technical knowledge of the Dutch tax laws, compliance, and advisory practices.Analytical mindset with a structured and detail-oriented approach.Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Dutch and English, capable of articulating complex tax matters to senior leadership and external stakeholders with clarity and influence.Fluency in both Dutch and English, with a strong ability to navigate and advise on tax matters in cross-border contexts.Collaborative and solution-driven working style with a proactive mindset.Open and adaptable attitude, embracing diverse challenges in a supportive and dynamic environment.How you will thrive and create an impact:
Manage Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Secondary Tax filings.Oversee and review tax compliance processes to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.Collaborate with the Avantor Tax Centre of Excellence in India and external tax advisors.Supervise and manage annual Corporate Income Tax in partnership with external tax advisors, ensuring robust tax planning and compliance with domestic and international regulations.Assist with tax planning projectsAct as a liaison with Statutory Auditors regarding external audit tax requirements.Manage compliance costs associated with external tax advisors.Communicate directly with Tax Authorities on all notices to and from the company.Prepare documentation for appeals and dispute resolutions with tax authorities.Take ownership of tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, managing all processes and leading negotiations in close consultation with the larger Avantor tax department, to ensure favorable outcomes.Research and draft tax advice on a range of topics with support from senior team members.Monitor and analyze changes in tax law and regulation in the region and provide recommendations for measures to address the potential impacts.Participate in financial due diligence for acquisition targets and play a leadership role in integrating tax processes in acquired companies.Collaborate closely with other leaders within the broader Finance and Tax teams to drive consistency in tax processes and overall performance.Identify areas for process, system and reporting improvement within the areas of responsibility.Other tasks as needed.Why Avantor?
