European Tax Manager
Location Amsterdam; Hybrid / Remote Working Opportunities Available
The opportunity:
Reporting to the Regional Tax Manager, you will be part of the European tax team function, which reports to the global tax department. Based in the Netherlands, you will oversee multiple tax compliance matters in Europe and not limited to just Dutch taxes. The purpose of the job will be to support the Regional Tax Manager and Tax VP based in the UK on any European tax matters
Responsibilities:
Preparation and filing of Dutch corporate income tax returnsPrepare tax disclosures for Dutch legal entity financial statementsPreparation and filing of Dutch VAT and IPT returnsPreparation of US GAAP quarterly reporting (current and deferred tax calculations) for EuropeForecast permanent differences for US tax accountingPrepare 5471 tax packs for US tax returnsPartner with US tax, European finance teams and other team members and external tax advisers, auditors and tax authoritiesWork with external advisers to review and monitor other European (non-Dutch/non-UK) corporate income tax, VAT and IPT returnsPrepare tax payment forecasting and liaison with treasury with regard to tax payments duePreparation and filing of intrastat and EC sales listsWork with finance colleagues to reconcile IPT and VAT control accountsRemain current on tax changes across Europe, provide advice on and implement these within the businessHelp with any European tax audits including audits by Dutch tax authoritiesSupport the Tax VP by providing Dutch tax advice on any business restructurings or transactions, transfer pricing, new business deals and M&ADeal with ad hoc tax queries from the finance team and other parts of the business.You will have the following skills;
English language skills both oral and written are mandatoryFluent in Dutch is preferred; and proficiency of any other European language is beneficialQualified accountant, tax adviser or lawyer. Will consider qualified by experience and/or trained with Dutch tax authorities.Experience working in Dutch tax (either in practice or in industry)Experience working in the insurance industryKnowledge and skills: Dutch corporate income tax and indirect tax knowledge (specifically VAT) required.A high level of numeracyRestless curiosity - Inquisitive and challenging to promote our performanceGood with Microsoft excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)Benefits & Training
