Apply now for the position of Regional Radiation Protection Specialist, and you will provide direct oversight and support for radiation protection and environmental health and safety for PETNET Solutions and Advanced Accelerator Applications MI PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities within Europe, UK, and India.

 

Your role: 

As a Regional Radiation Protection Specialist, you will have direct responsibility for a portfolio of cyclotron and PET radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will:

·       Provide day-to-day remote support for radiation protection and environmental health and safety (EHS) aspects of manufacturing operations.

·       Lead the implementation of radiation protection and EHS programs aligned with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices.

·       Develop and manage complex regulatory and corporate reporting requirements.

·       Assess the EHS and radiation protection implications of new products and processes, contributing to the design of effective technical and engineering solutions.

·       Manage advanced projects such as onsite compliance audits, due diligence assessments, and legal/regulatory evaluations.

·       Offer remote and onsite support during emergency response situations.

·       Author, revise, and review standard operating procedures and technical documents related to radiation safety and EHS.

·       Solve complex, non-standard problems with minimal supervision, using advanced technical expertise and critical thinking.

·       Champion the company’s safety culture and ensure ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) principles are applied consistently across assigned facilities.

 

Your expertise: 

·       Strong background in compliance auditing and regulatory reporting.

·       In-depth knowledge of radioactive materials management, environmental regulations, and transportation of dangerous goods.

·       Experience implementing or maintaining an EHS Management System.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).

·       A proactive mindset with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.

·       Demonstrated accountability and effectiveness in remote work settings.

·       Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical requirements into clear, actionable information for a range of stakeholders.

·       A collaborative problem-solving approach that engages relevant stakeholders and ensures sustainable, compliant solutions.

 Required Skills, Education and Experience for this position:

·       3–5 years of experience in radiochemical or radiopharmaceutical manufacturing, or applied radiation protection involving unsealed radioactive materials.

·       Degree or certification in Medical Physics, Radiological Health, Radiation Protection, or a related field.

·       Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% annually to facilities in Europe, the UK, and India.

·       Eligible to work in a hybrid model, including remote work.

·       Must reside in Europe or the UK, ideally in a country with one of the assigned facilities.

·       Proficiency in English is required; fluency in additional languages is considered an asset.
