Your collaboration Review customer files for existing layouts, configurations, project documents, and contracts.Provide proper product, and application of that product, to fulfill the client’s material transport requirements.Perform review of all project documentation including specifications, drawing packages, and other contractual documentation to capture the complete scope of the project.Perform material take off and total job cost estimates, including material, tax, labor and travel costs, to accurately reflect bid plans, specification and site surveys.Perform site surveys to determine the scope of work, verify ability to install system or develop options for difficult existing conditions; and/or schedule surveys to be completed by third-party contractors.Provide drawings, engineering reports and other supporting documentation to be included in sales proposals.Deliver executable design upon booking and participate in handoff meetings with Project Managers.Submit RFI’s (Requests for Information) to contracting authorities on projects as required to address any discrepancies or items requiring clarification.Communicate risks & opportunities to impacted individuals.Participate in sales presentations to support Sales team as required.Continuously monitor our solutions, products, estimating and pricing models, and proposals to ensure alignment.Provide ongoing support to Project Management throughout execution of booked projects.Shadow mid and senior level team members to become proficient at site surveying, system layout, design, and the estimate/risk review process.Perform other duties as assigned.
Your competence Minimum Job Qualifications:
1-2 years relevant experience and an applicable Associate’s Degree; OR: Minimum 2 years relevant experience estimating material and labor costs.Understanding of construction environment, processes and requirements.Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and provide system layouts in coordination with other trades.Technical knowledge of mechanical systems.Basic CAD drafting and Microsoft Suite proficiency.Attention to detail and ability to interpret requirements documents.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to appropriately prioritize current and future projects.Must reside in the Chicago area, Illinois, United States.Must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship.
Desirable, but not Essential:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.Knowledge of building/hospital facility mechanical systems and equipment such as pneumatic tube, HVAC, elevator, trash/linen, fire, etc.Estimating software.Bluebeam.SAP/Salesforce.Sharepoint.Good presentation skills.
Compensation: Salary range for this position is $72,000 - $85,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical / dental / vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%).
This individual must reside in the greater Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area. This is a hybrid position, reporting into our Schaumburg, IL office in-person at least 2 days per week.
