Job Description
The Estimator is responsible for assessing project costs by analyzing plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the full scope of work. This includes accurately estimating materials, labor, and time requirements to develop comprehensive and competitive project cost estimates.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documentation to fully understand scope and requirements.
Identify and accurately quantify all necessary materials, labor, and equipment for each project.
Assess potential project risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Develop detailed, itemized cost estimates encompassing all direct and indirect expenses.
Source and evaluate vendor quotes for materials and labor, ensuring alignment with specifications and budget constraints.
Leverage estimation software and tools to produce precise, comprehensive bids.
Prepare and submit competitive, error-free bids and proposals in a timely manner.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to validate estimates and clarify project details.
Participate in bid review meetings and support the finalization of bid submissions.
Monitor market trends, material prices, labor rates, and industry standards to ensure estimates remain current and competitive.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, quality surveying or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating preferably construction industry
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

The base salary range for this position is $85K-$120k, excluding benefits, bonuses or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range in uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
