Description Robert Half has a new direct-hire position available for an experienced Estimator to join our construction client in Howard County MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods and materials, with the ability to accurately interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, helping the company secure profitable work while ensuring competitive pricing. Key Responsibilities: + Review and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints, drawings, and project specifications. + Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment. + Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing. + Analyze project plans and identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities. + Prepare and submit RFPs, RFIs, and bid proposals in a timely manner. + Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop project schedules and budgets. + Track and document historical data for future estimating and benchmarking. + Stay up to date with industry trends, construction methods, and local building codes. Requirements Qualifications: + Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role. Exposure to estimating is a huge plus! + Construction industry experience required + Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. + Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and cost factors. + Experience with estimating software a plus. + Excellent analytical and math skills with attention to detail. + Strong organizational and time management abilities. + Effective written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. + High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
