Scope of Responsibility:
Provide estimation services for multiple construction projects. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates. Review and analyze bids for conformance to project specifications, price, material quality, and related items. Collaborate with numerous functional groups to secure best pricing and submit a winning proposal/pricing.
Essential Duties:
Assist in management of the design phase of the projectDevelop cost estimates for labor, material, equipment and/or any other cost element required to bid projects/jobsDevelop cost models based on customer SOW and pricing structureAbility size up entire projects wholistically to include all management, functional support, field personnel, Capital assets, warehouse/office space as required to successfully execute the projectDevelop and generate Sabre SOW based on customer SOW, bid invitations, solicit bids from subcontractors, maintain bid scheduleIn collaboration with Finance, establish cost baseline based on historical dataMaintain accurate costing files and preserve those files in order to support future proposal/pricing effortsIf required, develop detailed written proposals that satisfy customer requirementsAnalyze customer bid documents and design drawings and make sound recommendations how to best structure Sabre’s best offeringLead internal meetings with all functional groups to develop a winning proposal and price (Ops, Finance, Legal, HR, Vendor Management etc.) as requiredConduct meetings with subcontractors to facilitate understanding of SOW and pricing structureDiscuss and resolve questions with subcontractors prior to compilation of final estimate proposalAttend client meetings to discuss estimates as neededOnce project is won, work with Finance and Operations to develop budgets for all cost elements including subcontractors, material, equipment, warehouse/office space, Capital assets etc.Develop Formal Management Review (FMR) packages to secure required internal approvals to move forward with customer submittalUnderstand and implement the Sabre Services/MUTI approval authority limits for all proposals/bidsRegular and on-time attendanceWork in your shift as scheduledGetting along with coworkers
Physical Requirements:
Demonstrate ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or warehouse area as needed. Must be able to perform physical activities that require substantial use of fingers, hands, wrists and arms, such as sitting, typing, picking, pinching, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety mindset.Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.Perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound.The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and visual inspection for errors.
Position Requirements:
Associates degree in construction management, engineering, or similar preferred 5-10 years estimating experience Experience bidding raw lands, civil, tower erection, and line & antenna Experience with Matrix bids preferredAbility to read blueprintsAbility to manage multiple projectsAbility to identify errors, solve problems, and maintain a high level of professionalismKeen attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to collaborate across all Sabre Services functional groups Self-motivated and self-directedTechnical savvy – Excel experience a plusExperience with Timberline a plus
