Our Opportunity                 

We are pleased to announce an exciting, fixed-term contract opportunity within the Propulsion Competency Centre of the Integrated Airspace-protection Systems (IAS) business unit within Thales.

IAS are responsible for producing propulsion elements for Thales Alenia Space (TAS).

As the Estimating Lead, you will have the opportunity to develop cost proposals, lead a team of estimators, and collaborate with Bid Managers to explore how IAS can effectively support TAS.

Key tasks/Responsibilities:          

Liaise with TAS & manage the bids pipeline, ensuring resource availability to support
estimating activity

Oversee the development of detailed cost estimates based on TAS requirements

Lead estimating team from the PCC ensuring tasks are effectively delegated and deadlines
are achieved

Supports the Bid Manager at key Bid Milestones

Track & manage bid expenditure

Utilise estimation tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of estimates.

                                         

About You                                                                                                               

We are looking for someone who has a strong ability to work with Data and a keen eye for detail. Someone with exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills. Good organisation skills and the ability to work under pressure is also required for this role.

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance.  Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.

To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.  In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
