KBR is supporting the Iraq Ministry of Planning with the development of economic and social policies within the varied governmental sectors to achieve the national development objectives. KBR is providing consultancy services covering economic master plan, project prioritization, technical and financial review, project management, ongoing project monitoring and negotiation support.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESLead and manage a team of estimators, across infrastructure, consulting, and energy & power Task OrdersDeveloping and maintaining procedures for the preparation of estimates and budgetDesign and implement effective estimating and budgeting policies and proceduresAnalysing financial information (e.g. revenues, expenditures, and cash management) to ensure all operations are within budgetMonitoring spending patterns and implementing measures to promote adherence to budgetsPresent annual budgets to senior managementProduce estimating reports on projections, costs, and expendituresReview budget proposals and prepare financial documents and reportsDesign effective budget models for departments and the entire companyReview budget requests for approvalForecast future budget needsIdentify variances between actual and budgeted financial results at the end of each reporting periodSuggest spending improvements that increase profitsReview the company’s budget for compliance with legal regulationsEnsure department managers meet budget submission deadlinesEXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEBSc Quantity SurveyingRICS MembershipMinimum 15 years’ of overall experienceMinimum 10 years’ of experience in a similar roleMinimum of 10 years’ of experience in Middle EastKnowledge of MS Excel (specifically, advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts)Familiarity with forecasting methods and data analysisExcellent numeracy skills with an attention to detailStrong analytical skillsKnowledge of accounting best practices and regulationsAbility to explain budgeting and financial information in plain termsHands-on experience with accounting software and statistical packagesExcellent report writing skillsFluency in English both written and spoken, Arabic speaking advantageous.COMPETENCIESEstimating, Planning and OrganisingLeadershipTeam playerStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAble to work at all levels in an organisationStrong customer focusHSE Awareness
