A long-standing Seattle law firm is looking to an Associate Attorney to their Estate Planning group. The ideal candidate will have two to three years of experience in estate and trust matters, including the preparation of legal documents and tax-related filings. This role offers an opportunity to work in a highly regarded practice with a focus on delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities:
• Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
• Assist clients in the administration of trusts and probate estates, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
• Conduct tax research and provide support for the preparation and filing of federal and state estate tax returns.
• Advise clients on estate and gift tax planning, leveraging knowledge of relevant Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations.
• Collaborate with clients to address their estate and trust concerns, offering tailored legal solutions.
• Manage litigation tasks such as drafting motions, conducting discovery, and preparing briefs as needed.
• Maintain thorough and organized documentation to support legal proceedings and client interactions.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and timely advice.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service.

Requirements
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic performance.
• Active license to practice law in the state of Washington or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• One to three years of experience in estate planning and trust administration.
• Familiarity with the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations related to estate and gift tax planning.
• Exceptional research and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex legal issues.
• Strong drafting skills for legal documents such as wills, trusts, and tax filings.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate with clients and colleagues.
• LL.M. in Taxation is preferred but not required.
