Escrow Assistant
Description We are looking for a skilled Escrow Assistant to join our clients team in the East Bay. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic environment that handles both residential and commercial escrows, 1031 exchanges, and business sales. If you are detail-oriented and have a passion for the escrow process, this role will provide valuable exposure to diverse transactions and expert mentorship. Responsibilities: • Open new escrow accounts, gather accurate details, and ensure proper file setup. • Manage the deposit and disbursement of funds while balancing escrow accounts. • Order title searches and obtain necessary instruments to clear title for closing. • Assist with pre-closing file maintenance and post-closing follow-up tasks. • Support the Escrow Officer by conducting closing activities and processing payoffs. • Communicate title requirements and exceptions, as well as purchase and sale agreements, to relevant parties. • Organize and maintain file systems, ensuring records are properly categorized and accessible. • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including lender loan packages and status letters, adhering to time-sensitive guidelines. • Record legal documents and ensure compliance with customer preference forms. • Provide transaction updates and information to authorized individuals while maintaining confidentiality. Requirements • Minimum of two years of escrow experience, preferably in residential or commercial escrow processes. • Strong understanding of escrow procedures, title insurance, and clearance requirements. • Familiarity with handling payoffs, balancing escrow accounts, and recording legal documents. • Proficient in interpreting purchase agreements and title exceptions. • Ability to work independently as a self-starter with excellent organizational skills. • Experience in real estate, banking, or legal fields is highly desirable. • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, respect, accountability, and profitability. • Ability to adapt quickly and take ownership of the escrow process.
