**The community you'll be caring for:** AdventHealth Waterman 1000 Waterman Way. Tavares, FL 32778
**The value you'll bring to the team:**
Responsible for assisting the charge nurse and/or primary nurse with patient care throughout the department as assigned
Assists and coordinates the immediate off-load of patients arriving via EMS with the primary nurse and/or charge nurse
Collaborates with the primary nurse to assist in the implementation of appropriate physician orders to expedite patient care
Obtains specimens within a timely manner of arrival
Promptly notifies the physician and/or primary nurse of untoward changes in a patients condition
Monitors cardiac/telemetry status and vital functions of all patients
Demonstrates competency of EKGs and cardiac monitoring
Performs the role as assigned during ACLS protocols
Assists with the replenishing of crash cart supplies and other essential equipment
Proficient in the use and maintenance of emergency equipment
Demonstrates competency in all procedures within the scope of practice as a CNA or EMT
Documents treatment and administered care proficiently in the electronic medical record
Documentation compliant with established policies and procedures
Performs as a Unit Liaison.
Demonstrates skills to include but not limited to physician communication, maintaining electronic logs, EMS radio support, and coordinating patient transports
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols
Maintains professionalism in a fast-paced environment and exhibits an attitude of teamwork

Qualifications
**The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:**
**REQUIRED:**
High school diploma or equivalent
BLS Required
Current active Florida CNA or EMT license
Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
Performs basic skills completely to include but not limited to: patient transport, EKGs, telemetry monitoring, intake & output, vital signs, specimen/culture collection, phlebotomy, dressing applications, oxygen administration via simple airway management (nasal cannula or mask), personal hygiene assistance, chest tube set-up, splint applications, blood glucose monitoring, and foley catheter placement
**PREFERRED:**
Preferred one year healthcare of field experience.
