What is the opportunity?
An exciting opportunity to join the Equity Research team in London, where you will be responsible for fundamental analysis of companies in the energy sector
What will you do?
Provide research support to the Senior Energy Research Analyst.Assist in the development and detailed modeling of company specific financial models as well as industry macro models.Fundamental analysis of global integrated energy companiesCoordinate, generate and maintain research reports, presentations, and databases.Developing core Research Associate skills.Develop an expertise in the sector.Maintain relationships with coverage companies, investors and others internally within Capital MarketsAnalyze financial statements, company specific information and industry specific dataAssist with writing research notes and sector reportsSupport and answer client queries as they relate to the sector.Takes an active role in training and providing comprehensive feedback to junior team members. AD: junior most role in teamRegular interaction with clients in the sector has an impact on how RBC CM is perceived by investing and corporate clients. AD: not following, pls re-word if need to includeSupport the culture and direction of RBC by continuously looking for opportunities to broaden own experience and skill set; and address own areas for improvement and growth.What do you need to succeed?
Must have
Required undergraduate degree or similar qualification.CFA, ACA, actuary, or similar qualification is preferredSuperior customer service focus and attitude for internal and external clientsAbility to perform under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines, sometimes for extended periods of timeCommitment to task and an attention to detailAbility to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilitiesDetail oriented with solid analytical skills and ability to synthesize data points into trends beyond the mainstreamSelf-starter - must be organized and able to work independentlyGood personal skills and the ability to work and coordinate effectively within a team environmentExcellent writing and communications skillsStrong PC skills specifically in Microsoft Office applications and sourcing data from the internet and various technology publications with ability to quickly learn new platformsDemonstrated passion for equity/financial marketsNice to have
Exposure to Capital Markets or experience within the sector.UK Licensing Requirements – FSA or by exemption (as applicable)Previous experience in the Energy sector or Research related role an assetWhat is in it for you?
