The Opportunity:
The equipment sales representative is responsible to implement business strategy for the equipment/instrument products under LifeSciences business in Korea, in conjunction with the global business strategies and product specific marketing promotions. He/she will coordinate account strategies with Consumables & Equipment sales manager in Korea. This position must execute the business strategies, negotiate effectively, maximize synergy effects, build customer relationships, and develop new business in existing and new technology products.Develop the sales for instrument & equipment capability for in business, including lab equipment, lab instruments, and related products. This includes new businesses at existing and new accounts and new products sales.
Support managers and plan as well as execute new business plans to grow supplies and equipment businesses through sales channels (distributors, 2nd dealers and end-users).
Has primary accountability and ownership for building strong end-customer relationships as well as sales channel partners.
Take the responsibility to manage channel partners and customers for equipment business including third party logistic companies to provide the products on time to the end customer.
Execute new account development actions for the consumables & equipment market as assigned by the manager. Monitor the achievement of sales and receivables goals and develop improvement recommendations as needed.
Ensure to build strong relationship with key customers & major distributors, and summarize market information and competitor information Communicate to appropriate areas for improvements in service offerings or new products.
Ensure effective execution of customer facing business practice such as return goods policy, cross docking, terms and conditions and, credit and collection rules.
Involve in the field forecast activities and its improvement.
Supports new product and business development activities. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodations.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ON-GOING FUNCTIONS:
Implement sales processes, understands customer technology and application processes, and work jointly with R&T, Applications and Marketing to close major target account technology product opportunities. Maintain policies and procedures in accordance with Avantor standards and local regulations. Demonstrate effective employee relationships built on trust, teamwork and accountability. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
BS in chemistry, Chemical engineering, biotechnology, biochemistry, biology or related technology fields required.Experience:
Minimum of three(3) ~ five(5) years of activities in life sciences & chemicals industries, as well as in laboratory oriented business.At least 3 years of sales experience in life sciences industry.Sales experience with demonstrated ability to implement strategies and strengthen organizations.Skills/Competencies:
Mid level of influencing and persuading skills and high level of collaborative behavior.Ability to communicate clearly the intended message in formal and informal settings.Resilience and the ability to manage conflict.Ability to maintain good emotional control in difficult circumstances.Demonstrates a strong drive for results and project management skills.Ability to build relationships with other team members and gain commitment toward stated goals.Other Skills:
Collaborates productively as a team members.Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
The Equipment sales representative works closely as a team member with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, Supply Chain, R&T, and Quality team. Other roles within Avantor that impact this role are Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and Strategic Development.
Builds multi-layered relationships with customers and distributors to encourage strategic alignment and to understand mutual interests.Networks with industry trade groups to keep up-to-date on markets, customer activities, and new opportunities or threats.The Consumables & Equipment sales representative must also work with high level contacts at customers, distributors, suppliers and professional groups.
The Consumables & Equipment sales representative reports directly to the Consumables & Equipment sales manager in Korea.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is field based. He/she should travel extensively plus work with high level contacts at customer locations and professional groups. Both domestic and international travel will be required on a regular basis.
