The Billings Clinic IT Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) and the IT Project Managers play central roles in much of the activity within the Information Technology department. Managing IT projects from concept through deployment with coordination and leadership in many operational activities such as services, implementations, strategy and that are part of our agile development methodology. The IT Project Manager is a versatile role at Billings Clinic that designs and supports intelligent processes and technology to empower talented people to transform healthcare. Leads the project team, product owners and the business stakeholders within the framework of approved ePMO projects to create Information Technology solutions in support of Billings Clinic IT strategies.
Essential Job Functions
• Provides project management services to various Billings Clinic’s business areas, managing the entire lifecycle of the project from business case development to design, build, QA and deployment.
• Manages technology projects within project budget, scope, and timelines while adhering to the business and technical requirements. Also responsible for the ultimate quality of the technical solution along with the rest of the project team. The projects are supervised by a Sr. Project manager or ePMO Leadership and are smaller in size.
• Works within the Billings Clinic ePMO structure to deliver against a prioritized project portfolio. Effective and timely communication to project team members, peers, stakeholders and management on project status, accomplishments, tasks, issues and risks to the project.
• In rotation with other IT Project Managers, coordinate operational activities within the IT department.
• Acts as primary liaison with external consultants and external service providers when needed within the context of a project, including contract negotiations, invoice review and approval and coordination of all meetings, status updates, discussions of project risks, etc.
• Develops processes, procedures & documentation to be used by staff for information & technology developed within IT projects at Billings Clinic, as applicable.
• Provides feedback and insight on the Billings Clinic ePMO methodology to form a continuous improvement feedback loop to ensure that Billings Clinic is adapting its processes, procedures and structure to be as effective as possible.
• Works with Portfolio Owners to perform business analyst functions such understanding and developing user needs, requirements gathering, and creating workflow diagrams while managing technology projects, as applicable.
• Occasionally provides project management services to Billings Clinic business stakeholders who have project needs that do not involve Information Technology.
• Occasionally assists with QA and testing efforts as needed.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects from start to finish, concurrently with little to no supervision.
• Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience
• Successful established experience in managing projects or targeted coursework or college capstone project.
• Successful experience effectively working with inter-departmental projects or class projects.
• Experience in Microsoft Office 365
• Experience in document libraries, workflow and process development and project management software, preferred.
Certifications and Licenses
• MT Driver License or the ability to obtain one. Ability to be insured to operate organization vehicles.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Employees that require a licensed or certification must be properly licensed/certified and the licensure/certification must be in good standing.
