Epidemiologist IV- Full time- Research Design & Analysis

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides epidemiologic leadership within the Public Health Sciences department and HFHS. Works independently with investigators and clinicians as a full co-investigator in one or more research programs and in the design, implementation and analyses/interpretation of research studies. Generates first author papers. Develops goals, methodology and procedures to be carried out. Provides in-depth analysis of studies using a variety of epidemiological methods and prepare interpretive reports for research manuscripts. Provides review of entire draft of manuscript and can represent HFHS upon media inquiries. Attends and presents at internal and national meetings. Investigates, masters, deploys and documents new approaches to epidemiological methodology. Conducts clear and informative seminars on epidemiologic methods, as appropriate. Acts as a technical resource and provides guidance to support personnel.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Master's degree required. Master's degree in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology or related field preferred. Published one or more first author papers. Currently acting as a full co-investigator in one or more research program and in the design, implementation and analyses of research studies. Ability to research independently and provide publishable reports and analyses. Familiarity with statistical software packages, including some programming skills to develop new statistical techniques required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to interact with various levels of research and clinical staff and to prepare written summaries for research grants and scientific manuscripts. Previous supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
