EP(Established Products) Medical Head
**Key accountabilities** **- Lead Medical Strategy (** 50%) + Contributes to and leads the execution of the medical brand strategy and life cycle management at the MCO level + Provide medical and technical input into medically accurate development of Brand promotional materials in close alignment with the marketing team + Work with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the creation of medical strategies about products to answer unsolicited medical requests from internal and external stakeholders + Leverage (unmet) medical needs in order to support lifecycle opportunities based on patient needs on a rolling basis through the development cycle + Evaluate BD opportunities from Medical and Scientific point of view **- Lead post Marketing Studies (** 10%) + Liaise with key internal stakeholders to help develop and implement independent post approval studies that have the potential to support diabetes products + Utilize advanced knowledge of diabetes therapy and real-world evidence methodology to drive continuous improvements in delivering study results efficiently. + Actively engage regional thought leaders, investigators and potential investigators in two-way scientific communication around ISS/phase IV studies and provides effective solutions + Ensure timely review, approval and support as appropriate for ISSs + Advise on locally driven early stage clinical trial plans **- Lead Medical Communication/Publication and Exchange** (40%) + Lead Publication strategy planning and its execution. Lead activities related article publications, presentations at congresses and symposia + Establish and maintain contact with Key Opinions Leaders (KOLs) with high level scientific and business communication skills + Lead to shape field strategies in alignment with global medical director group and local MSLs + Develop and maintain scientific relationships with TLs to create awareness and understanding of the therapeutic area and products, and facilitate scientific exchange with KOLs + Present data at and chair as a leader for TA Medical Advisory Boards + Develop and leverage medical/scientific insights through attendance at scientific meetings to further develop own knowledge base in line with company and medical strategy + Conduct/attend/present at Advisory Boards initiated by the affiliate organization if there is a clear need for specific medical input + Support medical information role in alignment with medical information lead **Context of the job/major challenges** + Able to operate independently (with minimal supervision) and navigate complex regulatory environments in person and via digital channels from remote (non-office based) environment. + Possible substantial travel: nationally and internationally. + Effectively mediate KOL's complex and controversial opinions vs; corporate policy decisions ensuring KOL relationships/medical strategy are not negatively impacted. + Ensures regulatory boundaries re non-promotional activities are respected vis-à-vis commercial partners. **Scope of Role / Outputs** + Accountability on [Japan/EP portfolio] level with reporting mainly to GenMed Japan Medical head, but cross-geographical communication and best-practice-sharing is encouraged **Requirements** **Education/experience** + BSc; Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP in medical specialty) or equivalent combination of experience and education + Desirable – + Min 5-year experience in R&D and / or Medical in pharmaceutical companies + Have experience at least two years of MSL or three years of Medical Manager/Medical Advisor’s role + Prior experience in clinical trials management and understanding of GCP + Understanding of health economics + Scientific and Technical knowledge in Therapeutic area **SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE** + Scientific acumen: Therapeutic area knowledge, experience in medical research & development + Statistical & data interpretation: Analytical thinking and understanding of causation + Medical paper writing: Experience in writing of scientific medical papers (as appropriate) + Strategic acumen: Understanding strategic needs of affiliate organization important for completion of tasks + Must be fluent in Japanese and business level English (reading/writing) + Process Related Core Competencies + Focus on scientific exchange: Dedicated to serving HCP needs, feedback, establishes and maintains effective relationships + Effective Communication: Written communication and presentation skills + Other skills: Approachability, Interpersonal savvy **At Sanofi, we provide equal opportunities to all regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or gender identity.** **Watch our** ALL IN video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkpDBZ-CJKw&t=67s) **and check out our Diversity Equity and Inclusion actions at** sanofi.com (https://www.sanofi.com/en/our-responsibility/equality-and-inclusiveness) **!** **Pursue** **_progress_** **, discover** **_extraordinary_** Better is out there.
