**Environmental Technician** **Princeton, NJ, US** **Band K** As a key support member of the wastewater operations team, this role blends hands-on technical work with analytical decision-making to ensure optimal treatment performance and environmental compliance. You’ll gain critical experience in lab analysis, system adjustments, equipment maintenance, and interdepartmental collaboration, all while contributing to the health and sustainability of our water infrastructure. Begin the process of understanding lab data and visual observations and how they affect the decision-making process in the operation of the system. + Make necessary changes and adjustments to flows, chemical feeds, treatment processes etc. Begin the process of understanding of what changes and adjustments to make to obtain best possible treatment and to meet government (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection) established discharge limits. + Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, blowers, mixers, and other wastewater treatment equipment. + Take samples, run lab analysis & begin the process of interpreting data for use in the treatment process and for reporting purposes to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. + Work closely with outside lab, sludge Removal Company and wastewater equipment repair/maintenance companies. + Interact with any Firmenich employee and external client/contractor in a professional, courteous manner to promote a respectful, productive work environment. **We bring** + Opportunities for growth and advancement for those who embrace innovation and take initiative. + Supportive environment where individuals are empowered to progress and contribute to meaningful change. + Responsibility and accountability in living company values and driving sustainable solutions. + Recognition and celebration of your efforts and accomplishments. + A flexible work environment that empowers people to take accountability for their work and own the outcome + Dedication to creating better futures for customers, communities, people, and the planet. **You bring** + Must be able to attend all schooling to gain at minimum an N-1 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection industrial wastewater treatment operator license within 3 years of employment. Failure to gain the license will result in the loss of employment. + Must be able to be On Call Monday through Sunday every 3rd week and respond to emergency call backs at various off hour times and respond to the site within 2 hours. + The aptitude to complete lab work and understand the results. + Mechanical ability and problem-solving skills are required. + Must be able to lift 25 kilograms. + Must be available to work at a minimum of 4 hours Saturday and Sunday every 3rd weekend. The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $40- $42.
