Your mission, roles and responsibilities

The Environmental Specialist must be experienced person in related processes of environmental and energy management and CO2 reduction techniques implementation to save resources and improvement environment performance. Appliance of regulations and energy best practices is part of the responsibilities. The attention and fulfillment of the Group and plant objectives as a support of the management is one of the main roles.
The main missions of the role are:
o    Define and execute strategic plans for the improvement and reductions of energy consumption and CO2 emissions toward neutrality in the company’s scope.
o    Stablish and concert environmental awareness, energy, and CO2 reduction campaigns in the site.
o    Train the staff in terms of environmental compliance, energy efficiency and CO2 reduction.
o    Coordinate the activities related with environmental and CO2 requirements including results and performance reports.
o    Coordinate the activities of the necessary environmental studies focusing on energy and CO2 projects, including the supervision of related consultants.
o    Perform environmental, energy and CO2 audits.
o    Promote the supervision of contractors and suppliers according with Forvia standards.
o    Guide, supervise and assess about HSE Group, customer, and legal requirements.
o    Participate in the launching of new projects that impact the environment focusing on environment, energy consumption and CO2 emission.
o    STOP any activity or situation that has the potential to cause harm to the employees, the environment, and the property.
o    Ensure the purchase of the materials and services necessary for the operation of the activities required by the department.
o    Develop instructions, procedures and reports related with HSE activities.
o    Foster an HSE culture with all the employee, visitors, and contractors.
o    Participate actively in energy savings and improvement projects.
o    Lead and manage the energy management system, this includes the creation of methods to ensure a correct performance of it in accordance with national and international standards.
o    Lead, and participate actively with the environmental, energy and CO2 committee.
o    Collaborate and project manager for new sites to ensure best sustainable building certification (LEED).
o    Lead the site to the use of green energies for current and new projects.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum education level: Bachelor of business management, engineering (industrial, chemical, mechanical), health sciences or environmental or related. HSE specialization (desirable).
Experience:
o    At least 3 years of prior experience in automotive industry or related areas.
o    Attention to government inspections and audits in health, safety, and environment matters.
o    HSE requirements and regulations management.
o    Environmental management systems audits contribution.

Skills and competencies
o    External audit management: ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 (desirable)
o    Knowledge of HSE tools and methods.
o    Solving problems methos knowledge.
o    Risk assessment analysis development.
o    Results orientation.
o    Basic knowledge of IATF 16949.
o    Teamwork.
o    English communication.
o    Strong knowledge of Mexican health, safety, energy, and environmental standards.
o    Strong knowledge and identification of environmental aspects and impacts.
