Position Summary:
The position is under the supervision of the Environmental Services Director. Performs specialty cleaning in Perioperative and Pharmacy departments, equipment/supplies sets up and cleans equipment for sterilize procedures, and simple corrective maintenance procedures. Operating Rooms turn around cleaning between cases. Compound Room Ante and Buffer ISO Class 5 cleaning. Must work well under stress and tight deadlines. Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, residents, family members and visitors.

Position Duties/Responsibility:
Specialty Cleaning in Perioperative and Pharmacy departments. Operating Rooms in between case cleaning, and terminal cleaning, stocking supplies, linen, blankets, scrubs. Cleans PACU, nurses’ station, patient refrigerators, patient restrooms, soiled linen pick-up. Cleans surgical restrooms, locker rooms, break room, and physicians lounge. Cleans surgical workrooms, autoclave room, sterile pull room, gurneys, and linen hampers. Cleans endoscopy room, anesthesia room, and EVS closets. Pharmacies cleaning of Ante and Buffer Rooms daily and terminal cleaning with peridox, and preempt disinfectants. Cleans countertops, sink, carts, equipment and all easily cleanable exposed work surfaces. Cleans High touch areas, door handles, doors, telephones, intercoms. Cleans BSC/ ISO-% LAF Hood exposed exterior surfaces, hood legs, and underside cabinet. Cleaning implements are to be wiped down with sterile 70% IPA. Removes trash and liners, wipes inside and outside of trash bin, replace double liners. Cleans ceilings, walls, vents, cabinets, chairs/ stools, dust/mop floors daily. Cleaning implements and products should never be used for other areas in the facility. Cleans Pharmacy, shelves, under bins, pass-through, tables, walls, remove trash, dust/mop floors. Mops and dust floors daily. Performs other related work as it is assigned.
Essential Functions:
The ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods. The ability to push and pull items up to 50 lbs. The ability to grip, grasp and have fine motor skills. The ability to bend, stench, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, turn, reach, push and pull. The ability to lift up to 35 lbs. The ability to be supervised. The ability to work as a Team. The ability to have positive personal interactions with staff, residents and visitors.
Position Qualifications:
Education: High school graduation or equivalent is required. Experience: Have recent successful structured work experience, previous EVS or hospital housekeeping preferred. Certifications/Licenses: Current California driver’s license. Skills/Ability: The ability to work alone and unsupervised. The ability to read, write, and follow oral/written instructions. The ability to interpret the cleaning procedures. The ability to communicate clearly The ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks in a dependable manner. The ability to perform tasks and establish priorities to accommodate interruptions. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Knowledge of the specialty cleaning for Perioperative and Pharmacy Services, equipment, tools, and solutions. Use appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
