ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is looking for a talented Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team in our new Winooski, VT office supporting projects throughout Vermont.

 

At VHB, our Site Investigation & Remediation (SI&R) practice is dedicated to delivering comprehensive services that investigate, manage and mitigate environmental risks while satisfying regulatory requirements and complex project variables. Join our team and play a crucial role in enhancing how we deliver technically excellent and thoughtful SIR services to our clients. You'll be instrumental in creating cost-effective, multi-disciplinary solutions and providing essential SI&R support for some of Vermont’s most notable development and infrastructure projects.

 

Serving clients mainly in Vermont, but also across New England, we offer a complete suite of services—including site assessments, subsurface investigations, as well as design and permitting support, which add value and foster sustainable growth. Responsibilities

Field data collection (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil gas sampling) to support site assessmentsObserve and document investigation (soil borings and monitoring well installation)Construction and remediation activities for compliance with approved plansConduct site assessmentsLeveraging technology to support data management and visualization Assist with writing technical reports, correspondence, notes and memoranda

Skills and Attributes

Ability to work in field and office settingsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including directing and managing subcontractors Motivated, with strong ability to problem solve and work independentlyArcGIS experience/coursework preferred but not required.

Qualifications

1-3 years of environmental consulting experience required3+ years of environmental consulting experience preferredMasters degree preferred and may be substituted for work experienceBachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment (cost covered by VHB)
