Summary You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Solid and Hazardous Waste Branch of the Occupational Safety Health and Environmental Department (Code 106) of Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF). Responsibilities You will implement an environmental protection program that embraces a range of subjects directly or indirectly concerned with public safety and welfare and with the protection of natural resources in and around the shipyard and it's detachments. You will ensure compliance with environmental laws and be responsible for the technical adequacy of plans, designs, work control documents, and specifications to ensure environmental concerns are properly addressed. You will ensure compliance with regulatory drivers such Presidential Executive Orders and Code of Federal Regulations. You will develop Shipyard instructions and other guidance documents applicable to the implementation of environmental regulations, policies and requirements. You will utilize data from surveillances, inspections and other means to generate trends and abnormalities. You will provide advice and guidance to management, supervisors, and ship’s force on all aspects for environmental protection programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing programs (e.g., waste, hazardous materials, Spill Prevention or Response, Emergency Planning etc.) by implementing, and/or advising on programs directives, standards or procedures to evaluate and ensure regulatory compliance.
