**Job Description:**
We are looking for a motived, CEQA/NEPA Environmental Planner to join our team! This role will be a great fit for you if you’re ready to learn and grow in your career, are seeking a collaborative work environment, and are passionate about the environment.
In this position, you’ll assist our clients in identifying environmental compliance requirements and pathways to maintain compliance and protect the environment. You will primarily support routine permitting and compliance projects under the guidance of more senior staff. Travel and overnight travel will be required, typically with advanced notice.
Job duties will include:
•Preparing and managing the preparation of CEQA and NEPA documents, including Initial Studies, Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Reports, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, and supporting technical studies.
•Providing environmental planning knowledge and project management to help with environmental impact analysis, coordination on biological and cultural assessment support, CEQA/NEPA research and document production support, tribal fees to trust projects and coordination for other associated environmental projects.
Assisting in gathering data, conducting impact analyses, writing sections for CEQA/NEPA documents, assisting in preparing permit applications, coordinating with sub-consultants and project team members, and interacting with regulatory agencies.
•Identifying, evaluating, and solving environmental compliance and regulatory issues related to planning, energy, infrastructure, and public works projects.
•Managing and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously within scope, schedule and budget expectations.
Qualifications:
•BS or BA degree, preferably in an environmental discipline, sciences, or engineering
•7+ years of experience in environmental planning
•Direct experience and knowledge of environmental regulations, assisting in research for CEQA and NEPA planning documents, preparing or assisting in the preparation of technical sections, and knowledge of key environmental permits, including CWA 404/401, NHPA 106, and ESA Section 7.
•Knowledge of GIS
•Strong written and oral communication skills
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Highly detail oriented and accountable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
•Strong organization skills with ability to manage concurrent responsibilities
•Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience writing EAs
**Salary Range**
+ 138,900 – 173,500
