Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (on-site)
The Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance Specialist will work to develop and implement comprehensive regulatory compliance policies and procedures for Dollar Tree stores nationwide.  The individual will directly communicate with regulatory inspectors, regulators, stores, and store leadership regarding compliance and required abatement.  This role will also focus on identifying and analyzing trends to ensure the Company’s compliance strategies are comprehensive and effective.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Review, follow-up, track and provide regulatory agencies certification of abatement for deficiencies found in regulatory compliance inspections.  Accountable for the timely response to all regulatory compliance inspections.
•    Partner with internal groups such as Store Operations and Facilities/Property Management to address and resolve issues.
•    Provide guidance to stores to ensure compliance with established regulatory compliance policies and procedures.
•    Work with all levels of management to develop and implement long-term compliance strategies.
•    Maintain database of components required for comprehensive regulatory compliance tracking and reporting.
•    Provide regular reporting to Store Operations of all inspection activity, penalties, savings, and trending concerns.
•    Leverage current field structure to conduct comprehensive audits of stores, including backroom camera audits.
•    Review and update safety and health training information for Store Operations, and regulatory agencies like OSHA as needed.
•    Partner with Store Operations to draft and implement store safety and health policies.
•    Monitor new compliance challenges and keep Store Operations apprised of same.
•    Analyze change and contribute to strategies to update applicable programs, procedures and or policies according to regulatory changes.
•    Assist with special projects that impact store safety and health, such as monitoring governance, risk, and compliance management software (e.g., NAVEX).
This position reports directly to the Manager, Store Safety, part of the Environmental, Health, and Safety organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•    1-3 years’ experience in Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Environmental Health, Business, or similar field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: 
•    OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
•    Project Management certifications
•    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination education and experience.
