Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Location: Enderlin, ND
Position Type: Full-time, Exempt
Position Summary:
The EHS Manager at our Enderlin, ND facility is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of environmental, health, and safety compliance and programs to ensure a safe and regulatory-compliant workplace. This position operates independently without direct reports but collaborates closely with plant management and staff to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive occupational health, safety, and environmental programs tailored to the facility’s operations and compliant with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).Serve as the primary contact for all safety and environmental incidents, including injury and incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions.Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and ensure compliance with safety policies.Provide expert guidance and advice on regulatory compliance, hazard mitigation, and best safety practices to plant leadership and employees.Lead and facilitate safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and employee orientations focused on hazard awareness and prevention.Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training activities, and regulatory documentation.Develop and maintain the facility’s Emergency Action Plan and coordinate emergency preparedness drills.Analyze safety and incident data to identify trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions.Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization.Support plant management in meeting corporate and regulatory safety KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.Perform other duties related to health, safety, and environmental compliance as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in EHS may be considered.Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal and state regulations.Demonstrated ability to independently manage EHS programs without direct supervision or team management responsibilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and experience with safety management systems.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.Ability to conduct physical inspections in an industrial plant environment and manage emergency situations.Physical Requirements:Ability to climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, stand or sit for extended periods, and work in confined spaces or at heights as needed.Ability to work outdoors and indoors under varying temperature conditions.Ability to traverse the facility as required, including walking several miles per day.Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
