Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator
Overview
We are seeking a results-driven EHS Coordinator to support and enhance workplace safety, environmental compliance, and health initiatives within a dynamic operational environment. This role is integral to aligning day-to-day practices with both regulatory standards and internal safety goals. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, sharp attention to detail, and a commitment to building a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture.
Ideal BackgroundExperience: 2–3 years in a safety or environmental compliance role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a similar discipline is preferred; relevant experience with an Associate's degree may be considered. + OSHA 30-hour training and First Aid/CPR certification are strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience using digital EHS platforms or compliance tracking tools is advantageous.
Key Areas of ResponsibilitySafety & Compliance Operations
Serve as the site-level representative for all matters related to environmental, health, and safety.
Collaborate with operations leaders to align facility practices with internal EHS standards and applicable regulations.
Conduct routine walkthroughs, inspections, and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Training & Engagement
Design and facilitate employee training sessions on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and regulatory awareness.
Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and department-level communications to encourage workforce engagement.
Support the development of a safety-first mindset across all levels of the organization.
Incident Management & Reporting
Lead investigations into safety incidents or near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
Maintain thorough records of safety activities, including training logs, inspection outcomes, and incident reports.
Prepare documentation for internal use and external audits, ensuring readiness for inspections from regulatory agencies.
Environmental Oversight
Monitor environmental compliance requirements such as spill prevention, stormwater management, and hazardous material handling.
Ensure necessary reports, permits, and documentation are kept current and submitted as required.
Continuous Improvement & Culture Building
Promote a culture of safety by identifying improvement opportunities and contributing to long-term safety planning.
Participate in or lead safety committees, employee feedback initiatives, and wellness campaigns.
