We are seeking a dedicated expert Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our organization's efforts in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace while minimizing environmental impact. This position is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining a variety of safety programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. The successful candidate will be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with all departments. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Work with Plant Engineer and OHN to ensure the facility is in compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes. Apply and follow Emerson standard processes. Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations. Coordinate training for new and existing employees, including annual safety training. Compile, analyze, interpret and report accidents. Review property damage and injury reports. Lead and coordinate all safety committee activities. Help develop controls for identifying hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the efficiency of the hazard control systems and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries. Order and maintain all safety supplies, products or training items required with the support of the OHN. Manage recordkeeping and reporting requirements. Investigate accidents or near misses. Help promote a safety culture in the Company. Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will build an unsafe condition. Report all safety concerns immediately. Network with peers at other Emerson locations as needed. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes in regards to safety. Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety. Ability to handle difficult conversations in regards to safety and employee behavior. Take initiative and make quality decisions based on known policies and procedures with minimal direction. Possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to empower and influence others. Lead with utmost integrity, professionalism and a positive attitude. For This Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience in manufacturing in lieu of a degree. Relevant years of manufacturing & safety experience commensurate with the level of the position Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic digital literacy. Experience with internal and/or external audits from regulatory agencies. Exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease. Able to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Bachelors in safety engineering, Safety Management/ Technology/ Applied Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or Industrial Safety preferred. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or 5+ years of demonstrated ability experience in a safety capacity in a manufacturing environment required. Lean manufacturing experience preferred. Project management skills and the ability to work optimally in a team. Professional certifications in EHS, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).Our Culture & Commitment to You:
