Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
The EHS Manager is a highly valued role in providing day-to-day EHS support to the facility locations and operating teams within the designated region. This includes coaching, teaching, and training field personnel on safe operating behaviors as well as the design, development, and implementation of safety and risk control programs. The EHS Manager functions as a subject matter expert and consultant to help internal clients build sustainable loss improvement processes within the operating organizations that they will own and operate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide daily and continuous safety support to the Ohio and Indiana Markets.Conduct compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support AWP Safety EHS ManagementOffer daily guidance and direction in EHS programs to the field level, facility leadership level, and regional leadership to ensure a common and effective approachMaintain, audit, and update as needed AWP Safety- SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day trainingCoach, train, guide, and mentor the regional employees through the AWP Safety Management SystemReview accidents/incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting, and managing the corrective actionsParticipate in and support detailed incident investigations and Root Cause AnalysisAssist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS trainingAbility to work with employees and leadership to achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistanceTravel to branch locations and job sites as required and perform any additional duties as neededVisit and walk the job sites on a regular basis to establish an EHS presence and provide supportConduct daily, weekly, and monthly EHS Meetings/Training and schedule as neededPerform field safety observations during each visitAbility to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPEConduct critical behavior-based safety observations as neededPerform additional duties as assigned by the Business Unit EHS DirectorOversight and Implementation of Day-to-Day field operationsWork with the branch leadership and field teams to ensure work practices are understood and followedCoordinate Business Unit, Region, and Branch level safety activitiesConduct EHS audits and assessments of ongoing operations to measure compliance with regulatory requirements pertaining to AWP Safety company policies and proceduresPlans, administers and manages AWP safety policies, programs, procedures, and systems for assigned regionServes as the single point of contact for Regional and Branch leadership in the area of responsibilityEnsures EHS policies, procedures, programs, and systems are trained and available to the employeeQualificationsREQUIREMENTS
5-8 years of work experience in the EHS fieldBachelor’s degree in EHS or related field with 3 years of EHS related experience or HS Diploma with 5 years of EHS experienceEHS certification a plusProficient skills in Microsoft Office software applications, software management systems, and EHS management systems and reporting platformsExpect a 40+ hour work week, occasional weekends, and holidaysHours of operation may vary based on staffing needs and workloadWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
