Environmental Department Manager

Pay: $125,000- $150,000/year

The position involves business development, client management, staff management and department administration. The best candidate will have excellent organizational and relationship skills, and the ability to manage client expectations while developing staff to achieve their full potential.

The department manager will play a crucial role in conducting environmental sampling and assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental hazards. This position requires expertise in field sampling of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor, as well as the ability to perform Phase I Environmental Site

Assessments (ESAs) and conduct surveys for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP).

Project ManagementReport Preparation/ReviewStaffing AssignmentsStaff DevelopmentConduct staff performance reviews and assist with career developmentMentor staff, provide training and opportunities for growthStaffing AssignmentsWork with company management to establish department financial goalsStaff interviewing, hiring and onboardingBusiness Development – build an internal and external network to generate a business backlog

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field. A masters degree (M.S.) is preferred but not required.Must be registered as either a professional engineer (P.E.) or a professional geologist (P.G.).Minimum of 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting and project managementAt present, there is a minimal expectation of travel requirements, most work is in southeastern Wisconsin.Excellent command of environmental regulations and standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Technical and Regulatory CompetenceAbility to work independently and lead a team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
