What you'll do We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a EH&S Manager to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA! This hybrid role offers the unique blend of working collaboratively within our Carlsbad office and the flexibility of remote work. We're looking for a detail-oriented Manager to join our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team. In this exciting role, you'll apply strong project management skills and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure ongoing compliance and effective risk management. You'll identify opportunities to enhance EHS risk reduction across multiple locations, with primary responsibility for our Carlsbad, CA site and regional oversight throughout the US, implementing EHS programs, processes, and procedures across various business sectors. The day-to-day Manage our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) system across the US, from development to daily operations. Ensure compliance with all federal and state EHS regulations, as well as Viasat's internal policies. Oversee ISO 14001 certification for your assigned locations. Investigate incidents and work with teams to find and fix root causes. Lead our Emergency Response Teams (VERT) and related activities, working with local Security. Conduct EHS audits and inspections at regional facilities, collaborating with teams to address any issues. Partner with leaders to ensure EHS compliance and improvement efforts are supported across all assigned sites. Develop practical EHS solutions that fit into our existing business processes. Follow standard procedures for EHS projects, programs, and people management. Work independently on multiple projects, taking ownership of EHS system results and contributing to overall success. Track and analyze EHS performance metrics (KPIs) and take action when needed. Clearly communicate EHS goals and vision to internal teams, gaining their support. Help manage team workflow and mentor junior team members, while also handling more complex EHS duties. Collaborate with other team members to provide consistent and excellent QHSE support to our internal customers. Create and coordinate EHS training programs. Provide excellent service to internal customers and build strong relationships with key team members. What you'll need 5+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). 3+ years of management experience. Passion for EHS with a strong understanding of diverse customer needs and the impact of EHS in various settings. Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven ability to manage projects and audits successfully from start to finish. Demonstrated experience leading cultural change within an organization, effectively guiding people through new processes. Required experience with ISO 14001; familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 9001/AS9100 is a plus. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIH, CSP, CMIOSH, CPEA, CHMM) are preferred. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. Proven track record of achieving ambitious goals. Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively across different teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. US Citizenship is required. Ability to travel up to 10%. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $127,000.00- $191,000.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
