ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join us. This position will be based out of our Orlando, FL office.

 

Responsibilities

Work within a team of professionals in performing various traffic studies like Project Traffic Analysis Reports, Corridor studies, Safety studies etc.Support project development and environment (PD&E) studies, concept development studies, road safety assessments, and transportation planning documentationResearch, collect, tabulate, interpret, an,d summarize dataPrepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsPrepare meeting agendas, meeting summaries, and public meeting materialsConduct site visits and document findings from field observations and data collectionCompiling and analyzing traffic counts for various countiesReviewing various traffic reports for state and local countiesUtilizing software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, MicroStation, ArcGIS Pro, Vissim, and more

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsComfortable working independently as well as on a teamAbility to work in an office or virtual environmentDetail oriented, self-motivated, and committedAbility to independently perform multiple tasks within a defined timeline and interact appropriately and positively with coworkersStrong computer skillsCritical thinking and problem solving

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering, MS preferred0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experienceEngineer in Training certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months, preferred.Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, MicroStation, ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD/Civil3D, and Vissim experience a plus.
