ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an entry-level Transportation Engineer to join us. This position will be based out of our Orlando, FL office.

 

Responsibilities

Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation design concepts and solutions for a multitude of transportation and highway-related projectsSupport project development and environment (PD&E) studies, concept development studies, road safety assessments, and transportation planning documentationResearch, collect, tabulate, interpret, and summarize dataPrepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsPrepare meeting agendas, meeting summaries, and public meeting materialsDevelop preliminary design plans Develop engineer’s construction cost estimatesDocument and communicate findings from field observations and data collection

Skills and Attributes

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Comfortable working independently as well as on a team Ability to work in an office or virtual environmentDetail oriented, self-motivated, and committedStrong computer skillsCritical thinking and problem solving

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering 0-1 years of professional transportation engineering experienceEngineer in Training certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months, preferredOpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD/Civil3D, Synchro, ConceptStation experience a plus
