Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company’s Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for an Entry LevelPanel Assembler (Level A) to join our dynamic team in Sylmar, California.
Spectrolab is the world’s leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab’s state-of-the-art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth’s orbit, as well as the International Space Station.
Position Responsibilities:
Performs simple production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations.Performs such processes necessary for the fabrication and production of Solar Cells, including wiring processes, soldering, welding, adhesive mixing and applications, component bonding and abrading of substratesThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position is for various shifts (1st, 2nd or 3rd). Candidates must be willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environmentExperience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systemsAbility to use steady hand-eye coordination to work with small partsCapable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basisAbility to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaksPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Minimum of High School Diploma or GEDAbility to read and interpret system prints and schematicsExperience in J-STD-001 SolderingExperience soldering and terminating wiringExperience with chemical processesTypical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. high school diploma/GED).
Relocation:

Travel:
Position may require travel up to 5% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $40,800 - $55,200
