Seeking entry-level SUE/Survey Technicians for a long-term opportunity in Sanford, FL. This outdoor position involves significant physical labor and offers training in survey and utility locating. Technicians will engage in varied tasks that contribute to the team's efficiency and safety.
ResponsibilitiesPerform heavy labor including using hand tools, digging, setting up sites, operating vacuum trucks, and site clean-up.Conduct minor maintenance and troubleshoot operating problems on vacuum systems and vehicles.Clean and maintain vehicles, work sites, and equipment.Select and apply appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to designate underground utility layouts.Comprehend and interpret utility and highway design plans, atlases, and record drawings.Complete paperwork, including record-keeping and simple mathematics, legibly and accurately.Perform related duties such as setting up maintenance of traffic, making basic field measurements, and performing geophysical prospecting.Essential SkillsHigh school education or GED.Ability and willingness to perform heavy labor.Capacity to work outdoors in extreme heat and weather conditions.Valid driver's license and ability to pass an MVR check.Ability to travel, potentially extensively, up to 5 days during the week.Willingness to work overtime as needed.Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious utility locating or survey experience is a plus.Work EnvironmentThe role involves working outdoors as part of a 2-3 person crew.
