Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and design-focused Project Civil Engineer for our downtown Durham office. In this role, you will thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside experts from multiple disciplines. You will handle projects ranging from campus design to large-scale master planning, focusing on civil design, calculations, and site documentation. This position offers a broad range of responsibilities and professional development opportunities within our studio.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and design civil engineering components under direct supervision of the Project Manager.Perform civil design calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and site design.Write various reports and technical memoranda.Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other modeling software.Conduct QA/QC of drawings and specifications.Manage small projects and components of major projects.Review work of Designers, Engineering Interns, and CAD Techs.Perform construction observation and administrative duties such as site visits and field reports.Assist in other duties as assigned by a Project Manager or Studio Leader.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other site design software.Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and methods.Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and permitting requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsCommitment to collaborative design process.Ability to visualize projects through hand and digital techniques.Sound judgment and decision-making skills.Demonstrated writing, communication, and drawing skills.Ability to manage tasks and maintain project schedules.Driver's license preferred.Value diversity of thought and respect different perspectives.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
