This position is with the Global Enterprise Risk Management group under the direction of the Chubb Chief Risk Officer, and is based in Philadelphia, PA. The team seeks a self-motivated and passionate professional to be responsible for risk assessment, modeling and reporting to Chubb’s executive and board committees, as well as external stakeholders such as regulators and ratings agencies. The ideal candidate is a driven individual motivated by the opportunity to identify and assess a wide range of impactful risks to Chubb. The risk area of focus are insurance risks in the P&C lines.
These responsibilities require an understanding of the insurance industry and factors impacting it, as well as conducting research in topics that impact Chubb’s underwriting profitability and risk. Given Chubb’s broad scope of business and the enterprise-wide nature of this role, a critical skill for the candidate involves the ability to quickly grasp an understanding of new and developing issues, problem-solving, and the ability to synthesize and communicate key takeaways from analysis. Projects often require tight completion timelines and close attention to detail. At any one-time, multiple projects may be ongoing so the ability to shift focus quickly from one project to another is necessary.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production of ERM’s quarterly and annual risk accumulation analyses, reports, and presentations to various senior management and Board committees. Preparation of various ERM analyses including industry exposure analysis, emerging risk analysis, etc. Ability to translate a business need into an analytical output, creating written reports including quantitative analysis and data visualization/ presentation. Involved in model development such as PML models to develop loss estimates associated with risks. Increase automation of exposure analyses, e.g. automation/increase efficiency of accumulation process and spreadsheets, development and use of querying tools. Collaboration with offshore analytical team to support risk accumulation analyses. Bachelor's degree in economics, math/statistics, computer science, engineering, business, actuarial science, risk management, or related field2+ year experience in enterprise risk management, finance, actuarial or related functions in the Property & Casualty insurance industry is preferred.Strong analytical skills and critical business thinking skillsData visualization skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill and communicate key messages to an executive audienceCapacity to identify and assess potential risks, taking initiative to seek out internal resources or external data sources to do soDetail oriented with ability to manage complex processesAbility to provide realistic time estimates; driven to achieve committed milestonesCollaborative problem-solving skills Should have good organization skills and be able to maintain good documentation and record keeping.Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required (including VBA macro skills and knowledge of data arrays and pivot tables), other MS Office applications (Access), and/or SQL a strong plus.Experience with the following technologies: R or Python, SQL preferred.
