**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Enterprise GIS Administrator will act as the database administrator and data steward for geospatial data assets within the Geospatial team at CoStar. This position will play a critical role in modernizing our program by maintaining and advancing our geospatial capabilities, supporting our technical architecture strategy, ensuring seamless database performance, making GIS hardware and software licensing recommendations, and driving innovative GIS solutions.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Maintain and optimize geospatial databases, ensuring performance and reliability.
+ Manage GIS software installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and integration, including ArcGIS Enterprise.
+ Deploy geospatial data updates within specified timelines and service level agreements.
+ Develop and document database architecture, interdependencies, and operational processes.
+ Automate processes to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual workload.
+ Ensure system backups and high availability in coordination with server administrators.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve GIS system issues, including after-hours incidents as needed.
+ Support backend development for geospatial applications, including ETL scripts (e.g., Python, FME).
+ Provide technical expertise on database security, performance, and GIS-related architectural design.
+ Evaluate emerging technologies and propose upgrades to software, hardware, and system configurations.
+ Maintain compliance with organizational policies for database access and permissions.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields.
+ 5+ years of experience in GIS database management.
+ Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise setup, configuration, and administration.
+ Expertise in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and other RDBMS, and proficiency in Python scripting for automation.
+ Hands-on experience implementing GIS within cloud-based database solutions and migrations to the cloud.
+ Strong understanding of spatial data modeling, GIS server tuning, and web-based geospatial applications.
+ Experience developing spatial data ETL scripts and tools using Python, or other scripting languages.
+ Experience managing GIS data layers with version control and working with enterprise geodatabases.
+ Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
+ The ability to prepare and present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
