1. Diagnoses, repairs, and maintains various enterprise vehicles and automotive equipment to reduce downtime for departments and provides recommendations to increase safety.
2. Coordinates with the Fleet team, departments, vendors and suppliers to schedule services. Works with the Fleet team to manage the preventative maintenance program, including recordkeeping of repairs and costs, as well as maintaining the recommended scheduled maintenance.
3. Repairs and replaces brake pads, tires, wheel bearings, sensors and other parts, as needed.
4. Coordinates and requests the purchase of all parts, tools, and supplies needed to complete all preventative maintenance and repairs on vehicles and automotive equipment.
5. Performs automotive care tasks daily including checking fluids, inflating/rotating tires, changing oil fluids, replacing wipers and bulbs, and completing reports.
6. Identifies, requests, and maintains inventory of spare parts for enterprise vehicles, and automotive equipment for maintenance and repair.
7. Adheres to safety policies and procedures when performing all repairs, while ensuring vehicle safety. Maintains up to date knowledge of safety requirements and obtains additional certifications, as needed.
8. Assists in the development of tactical plans, to meet both short-term and long-term enterprise objectives.
9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
High School diploma or GED is required.
Associate’s degree or equivalent Automotive Certification Program from an accredited institution is preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (Ksa)Must have verifiable experience as a lube or tire installation technician.
Must have intermediate proficiency with computers, diagnostic equipment and programs including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and various automotive programs (i.e. Mitchell 1 or other automotive repair software).
Must have advanced knowledge and comprehension of air-conditioning systems.
Must be able to read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.
Must be able to communicate, read, and write in the English language. Bilingual abilities are preferred.
Must be familiar with hazardous materials and possess an understanding on how to properly maintain and store them.
Must maintain a strict level of confidentiality and act in a manner consistent with all legal and regulatory requirements and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Represents the department publicly in a courteous manner and serves as a key representative to internal/external customers to maintain effective relations.
Licenses, Certifications And RegistrationsAt the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier. California Commercial Driver License (Commercial Class C, B, or A with Passenger Endorsement) is preferred.
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in “A” series is required. A4 – Suspension & Steering, A5 – Brakes, A6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems, and A7 – Heating & Air Conditioning are preferred.
Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate issued by a certified medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry is preferred.
Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions – EnvironmentThe physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Primary work environment is indoors in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse setting, working in and around various vehicles.
Employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions such as rain, wind, cold, and hot climates.
Outside settings to include, parking lots and streets, exposure to heat, exposure to chemicals and hazardous waste (oil, anti-freeze and gasoline), and exposure to dirt and road grime.
Work requires travel to attend meetings, service vehicles, trade shows, training and conferences.
Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Strength sufficient to exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 80 pounds occasionally.
Non-Sedentary work; involves working in and around vehicles and automotive equipment most of the time. Constantly operates automotive repair tools and equipment.

Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, climb/descend stairs and in/around various vehicles; walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate motor vehicles for extended periods of time, and travel to San Manuel properties.
Endurance sufficient to maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
